George Smile

I’m George Smile, owner of Wiz Team, Inc., and I know how important it is for a business to keep its workplace looking clean and professional. On October 3, 2026, our team helped Stacey of Alley Company in Lake Forest, Illinois, refresh high-end commercial carpet tiles that had gone three years without professional cleaning. The carpet needed careful attention, not just a quick pass with cleaning equipment. If your office carpet has started looking tired, the right cleaning approach can make a real difference without rushing the job.

Here’s Stacey’s Story

Stacey wanted her office carpet to look clean and well cared for again. Alley Company had installed high-end, glue-down commercial carpet tiles, but after three years of use, the carpet was showing clear signs of daily foot traffic. There were also several spills and spots, while areas of carpet adhesive had become more noticeable. The carpet needed a thorough refresh, but Stacey had an important concern: How could we get the best possible result without damaging the carpet or the surrounding surfaces?

The Challenge: Refreshing a Well-Used Office Carpet

High-end commercial carpet deserves a thoughtful cleaning plan. These carpet tiles were installed with adhesive, and their condition required us to consider more than just visible dirt. We had to account for the carpet’s construction, the glue-down installation, the areas of heavy traffic, and the spots left behind by spills.

After three years without professional cleaning, the busiest areas had begun to stand out. Foot traffic can gradually push soil into carpet fibers, making walkways look darker or duller than less-used sections. A few spills and spots added to the problem, and the visible glue marks made the carpet’s overall appearance even less appealing.

Stacey wasn’t simply looking for someone to make a quick improvement. She wanted an experienced professional who understood high-end office carpet and could handle the work with care. Protecting the carpet from damage was a major priority. So was protecting the other flooring and surfaces in the office.

Drying time mattered, too. Commercial spaces need to return to normal use without unnecessary delays. We needed to deliver a thorough clean, address the stains, manage moisture carefully, and help the carpet dry as quickly as practical. It was a job that called for preparation and the right combination of cleaning methods.

Our Approach: Careful Preparation and Specialized Cleaning

We started with a pre-inspection in August. Before bringing in our equipment, we examined the carpet and discussed the situation with Stacey. We explained the procedures we planned to use, provided information about the work, and supplied a written quote. This gave the client a clear understanding of the proposed service before the cleaning day arrived.

We returned on Saturday, October 3, ready to carry out the work. Our first priority was protecting the property. We covered the wood flooring with leak-proof drop cloths to help guard against moisture and accidental spills during the cleaning process. We also moved the furniture as needed and made sure it was returned to its place after the work was completed.

Next came thorough pre-vacuuming. We used HEPA vacuums throughout the areas being cleaned to remove loose soil before applying our main cleaning treatment. This preparation matters because removing dry debris first helps us focus the following steps on the soil and spots that need more attention.

For the carpet tiles, we used top-tier encapsulation cleaning agents along with orbital cleaning equipment and CRB (counter-rotating brush) units. We selected this combination to address the carpet’s condition while taking its glue-down installation into account. Rather than relying on a single step, we worked through the carpet systematically.

We then followed up with SuperZorb pads to help pick up additional moisture and soil. We also pre-treated the stains and successfully removed them. Each of these steps had a purpose: prepare the carpet, clean the affected areas, collect remaining soil and moisture, and work toward the best possible overall result.

The stairs received a separate treatment using hot water extraction with our truck-mounted system, followed by speed-drying measures. We installed air movers to support drying throughout the cleaned areas. Finally, we checked the work with Stacey and the company owner during a walkthrough, giving everyone an opportunity to see the finished result.

The Results: A Noticeable Commercial Carpet Refresh

The cleaning turned out very well, and we were pleased with the finished appearance. The treated stains were successfully removed, and the carpet received the detailed attention it needed after three years of daily use. The combination of pre-vacuuming, encapsulation cleaning, additional soil pickup, and targeted stain treatment allowed us to address the different concerns we identified during the inspection.

Just as important, we approached the project with protection and moisture management in mind. We used leak-proof drop cloths to protect the wood flooring, handled furniture carefully, and installed air movers to support the drying process. The stairs were cleaned using a different method suited to that area.

Why take these extra steps? Because successful commercial carpet cleaning isn’t only about how the carpet looks when the equipment is packed away. It’s also about how carefully the work is planned, how the surrounding property is treated, and whether the cleaning process addresses the customer’s priorities.

During the final walkthrough, Stacey and the company owner were impressed with the results and the service we provided. Their reaction was especially rewarding because we knew how important it had been to them to find a team with experience handling high-end office carpet.

And what does Stacey think?

Stacey of Alley Company was highly amazed by the result. Both she and the company owner expressed how much they appreciated the outcome and the service our team delivered. Seeing that satisfaction firsthand was a great way to wrap up the project.

For us, customer satisfaction isn’t just about completing a cleaning appointment. It’s about listening to concerns, explaining the plan, protecting the property, and following through on the work. When a customer trusts us with high-end commercial flooring, we take that responsibility seriously.

One detail made this project even more rewarding: Alley Company pre-scheduled its next cleaning for 2027. Earning the opportunity to serve a customer again is a strong sign that the experience made a positive impression. We look forward to helping them keep their workplace carpet looking its best.
