Founded in 1992 as one-man carpet cleaning and handyman service by George Smile in Munich, Germany. Fast-forward today, we remain a family-owned business led by George and Mia Smile, operate from two locations: Lake Forest, IL and Lake Zurich, IL. 1992 – George Smile, the founder of Wiz Team, Inc. invested and opened a Carpet Cleaning and Handyman Service in Munich, German called Wiz Clean, GmbH.
1997– George and Mia Smile moved to the USA with their son Sasha.
1998 – George and Mia Smile opened up Wiz Team, Inc. running it from a small rented storage unit not bigger than 150 sq. Ft.
1998 – We purchased our first Truck Mounted Carpet Cleaning System capable of fast water recovery, and superior vacuum and cleaning abilities. Now results in better cleaning and faster drying of any textiles cleaned by Wiz Team, Inc.
1998 – George started education and certification in the cleaning and restoration industry by traveling all over the United States and taking classes offered by IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification).
1998 – We moved into our new 2,000 Sq. Ft. warehouse shop.
1999 – Water Damage and Fire & Smoke Restoration Divisions were added to our service list.
2001 – George becomes a Certified Master Textile Cleaner.
2002 – George becomes a Certified Master Water Restorer.
2002 – We introduced Air Duct Cleaning Services to repeat and new clients. Our powerful Negative Air Vacuums can remove pounds of dust and debris from ducts tremendously improving Indoor Air Quality and reducing allergy-triggering respiratory allergens and related illnesses.
2003 – George became a Certified Master Fire and Smoke Restorer. Completing all required classes and written exams in record time, George achieved Highest Designation in Cleaning and Restoration Industry.
2003 – We started offering Tile & Grout Cleaning Services using the latest pressurized water jets and quick soil recovery system making Tile & Grout look like the day they were installed.
2006 – We introduced Hardwood Floor Cleaning Wiz Team; Inc. went through cleaning school organized by BONA Cleaning System. We invested in the finest equipment automated scrubbers & patented Hardwood Floor products offered by BONA for professionals.
2012 – In June of this George’s older son Sasha Smile graduated Magna-Cum Laude and received his Industrial-Organizational Psychology degree from DePaul University and came to work full time in the family business at Wiz Team, Inc. Cleaning and restorations Specialists.
2012 – Off-site Oriental and Fine Area Rug Cleaning were introduced in our facility offering inspections, hand cleaning, customized cleaning for fine rugs, and Premium Rugs pads.
2013 – We moved into a bigger facility 5,000 Sq. Ft. warehouse shop.
2017 – George and Sasha become Certified Master Oriental Area Rug Cleaning experts. The only two in all of Illinois.
2019 – Wiz Team, Inc. opened a second location in Lake Zurich, IL with a cleaning facility of 8,000 sq. ft. and a dedicated 4,000 sq. ft. Oriental and Fine Area Rugs Cleaning Studio, where we accept rugs drop-off and perform cleaning of the finest rugs from all over the world picked up by our technicians from our client’s homes and business.
2020 – Wiz Team, Inc. Cleaning and Restoration Specialists offered residential and commercial Disinfecting Services using EPA registered Disinfectants using various of application techniques and equipment, including the newest Electrostatic state-of-the-art technology.
2021 – We renewed and modernized our entire fleet of trucks and vehicles, as well as permanently installed equipment used for cleaning on daily basis. Custom fitting our fleet vehicles with dual water softening and purification systems.
2022 – We continuously updated our equipment and cleaning agents to provide the best possible service to all of our 3,500+ repeat clients. We work on constant improvements in client service relations, communications, performance, and service execution. We answer our phones live, everyone’s need for service matters to us and we like to be part of the solution to our client’s situations. We do have an automated telephone system for after-hours and emergency services; which is communicating with our Emergency Response Team on call, making it possible to help our clients in time of need. We simply love our clients and what we do.
